The dancers of Plano Metropolitan Ballet, Junior Company, Generations, and their families put on a different type of dancing shoes and attended the annual Plano Metropolitan Ballet Gala. The theme this year was A Night in Paris and attendees enjoyed dinner, French sweets, dancing, ballet trivia, and a silent auction.

Plano Metropolitan Ballet’s Artistic Director, Cindi Lawrence Hanson received the 2024 NTPA Stardust Awards Distinguished Performing Arts Leader Award! Stardust Awards honor outstanding performing arts leaders, educators, organizations, and others whose work has a significant impact on performing arts across North Texas. Nominations are made by the public and recipients are determined by a panel of civic leaders, artists, and past honorees. PMB, Junior Company, and Generations are thankful to be under the direction of such a passionate advocate for the arts!

Plano Metropolitan Ballet performed in Garage Arts Project’s BRIDGES. BRIDGES featured 5 showcases with 35 diverse performers, multi-disciplinary performances, and cross-genre performances. It culminated in a grand finale, bringing together the timeless elegance of the *Blue Danube Waltz* with an interpretative Raas Leela—a divine union of Ballet, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Indian folk, and Odissi. This cross-cultural project brought to life East and Western genres in a dance of devotion.

Plano Metropolitan Ballet and Junior Company joined amazing arts organizations across North Texas for the third annual Celebrate the Arts. They loved performing alongside artists such as Plano Symphony Orchestra, North Texas Performing Arts, and Children’s Chorus of Collin County. If you couldn’t make the event this year, definitely check it out in the future!

The 20th Annual Dance Plano Festival was an outstanding success! Dance Plano is hosted annually by the Plano Metropolitan Ballet and brings together polished professional dancers and talented student companies. This year audiences enjoyed a broad variety of dance – historical variations, new choreography, classical, contemporary, international, and more! The 2024 lineup included Avant Chamber Ballet, Ballet North Texas, Collin College Dance (Collin Dance Ensemble), Dallas Black Dance Academy (Allegro Performing Ensemble), Ellora Center for Performing Arts, Full Circle Dance of North Texas, Garage Arts Project, LTP TAP, McKinney Dance Studio (Ballet Folklorico), Miguel Huerta, Plano Metropolitan Ballet, Generations, Rhythmic Souls Tap Company, and, XJ Star Dance Academy

Dancers from Junior Company performed the Wizard of Oz for an afternoon show and an evening show! The wonderful production was followed by performances by PMB Pals (at the matinee), Plano Metropolitan Ballet, Generations, and North Star Dance Project.
January 2024
January 2024 brought Plano Metropolitan Ballet’s 35th Annual Fairytale Ballet with their production of Cinderella. Dancers performed 9 different shows across 3 weekends with fantastic costumes, stunning choreography, and delightful comedy. Dancer’s from Plano Metropolitan Ballet, Generations, and Junior Company performed at Dickens in Downtown Plano. They celebrated the approaching holiday season by dancing to holiday music. The event had a tree lighting, snow slide, stage performances, hot coco, holiday shopping, live music, and crafts!

Plano Metropolitan Ballet performed at the Plano Symphony Orchestra’s inaugural Tune-n-Fork Community Music Party. It was a fun event that brought together local artists and area restaurants, all while celebrating live music. PMB loves to be involved in the Plano community and support fellow Plano artists!
